People were honored to lift in her memory Friday.
“To honor her and do her favorite workout, what she enjoyed doing, that’s what I was thinking about today while doing it. The CrossFit community helps to grieve the loss,” said Lori Kupferman of CrossFit Pompano Beach.
“That extra push that’s on your mind during the workout, that extra effort to honor them and what they sacrificed,” said Matt Mullins of CrossFit Pompano Beach.
Gyms as far away as South Carolina are doing the “Lift Like Laura” workout this weekend. The fundraiser starts at 8 a.m. Saturday at CrossFit Vice in Coral Springs.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation s Denver Division thanked Coloradans after experiencing an outpouring of support following the death of Special Agent Laura Schwartzenberger, a news release announced Monday.
Loved ones of both agents remembered them as dedicated servants to a higher cause, devoted parents and people who made life easier to bear thanks to their uplifting personalities.
Schwartzenberger, who worked out at the Vice gym with her two boys, was killed while part of the group serving a search warrant at the home. Laura is someone that always encouraged everyone. Everyone wanted to be Laura’s partner, everyone wanted to be here and work out with her, Brown said. She was just a gem.
Brown said the 43-year-old Schwartzenberger was one of several agents who worked out at the gym and was someone others looked up to.
