Sign Up The mum of an eight-year-old girl who has been too sick to return to school one year since catching coronavirus has joined calls for the Scottish Government to provide more support to youngsters with long Covid. This week marks one year since Helen Goss’ family caught coronavirus but it is her eight-year-old daughter Anna who continues to suffer daily debilitating symptoms. The Westhill youngster has missed most of the last school year at Crombie School, suffers daily from fatigue, migraines and severe stomach pain.

Schools are currently only open to children from key worker families, or those deemed vulnerable, but due to the snow and plummeting temperatures, many head teachers have decided it is not safe to ask pupils or staff to travel.
