On National Pizza Day, here’s a new pizza joint to put on your radar:
Vivo Pizza and Pasta, an upscale fast-casual pizzeria opened two weeks ago at Boca Center in Boca Raton. The menu, which also includes pasta, antipasti, wine and sweets, lists 11 varieties of pizza.
The 12-inch pies are topped with a range of expected classics sausage, prosciutto, San Marzano tomatoes, black olives, basil and some unexpected ingredients, like the ones on the patata pizza (potatoes, fior di latte mozzarella, pancetta and caramelized onions).
The new spot is located in the 30-year-old plaza formerly named Crocker Center. Vivo shares the plaza with newcomer Copperfish Kitchen and several other dining concepts. This is the first U.S. location for the Vivo chain, which has eight restaurants in Ontario, Canada.
