SV House / Sommet | ArchDaily

© Cristobal Palma / Estudio Palma The structure of the house is composed of metal columns and beams. These columns respond to a grid that dictates the modulation of the glass enclosure, creating symmetry between the façade and the interior of the house. On the other hand, the metal beams highlight the slabs on the façade and become the main protagonists on the formal expression of the house.  © Cristobal Palma / Estudio Palma The roof of this 350m2 house is composed of a combination of a canal beam and calamine. The top floor is a combination of reinforced concrete slabs and beams and count with a 5cm concrete molding that creates the concrete ceiling on the exterior of the house.

Despite the house rises and is separated from the ground, an explicit communication is established between the interior and the exterior of the house. Each space opens its views towards the garden, allowing a direct visual communication between the interior and the exterior. © Cristobal Palma / Estudio Palma The orientation of the house responds to sun exposure. The sides become blind walls as protection from the sun and define the volumes of the house. In this way we can also direct the views towards the lowest point of the terrain, taking advantage of the privileged views of the surroundings.

Barra House / Ossa Valdes Arquitectos

© Cristobal Palma / Estudio Palma A steel structure is created for this common space, achieving a multifaceted space free of pillars in which a large skylight opens towards the south. To give more privacy to the bedrooms in relation to this social and activity space, small patios are proposed as buffers. They are projected from the exterior of the house towards the interior, forming two semi-open spaces creating the barbecue area and an outdoor living room for the master bedroom. The structure of the house is fully modulated and beams and pillars are exposed defining a rhythm along the north and south facades with a character of dock-type walkways to which a series of wooden lattices are added, playing with the movement of the sun during the day.
