Burlington, IA- A Burlington man has been found guilty of sexual abuse following a three-day trial. According to the Des Moines County Attorney's Office, 41-year-old Arthur Alonzo Snipes IV of Burlington was found guilty Thursday, June 13th, of two counts of Sexual Abuse in the Second Degree. The jury deliberated for about two hours before reaching its verdict. The charges stemmed from a report in 2022 of incidents that occurred in 2020. Following an investigation by Burlington Police Detectives and the Criminal Investigation Division of the Burlington Police Department, Snipes was arrested in November of 2023. Snipes is scheduled to be sentenced on July 29th at the Des Moines County Courthouse. He faces a maximum prison sentence of 25 years on each count.
