Five injured in Sunday night gun battle near Shreveport s Holliway Medical Clinic 2 hours 41 minutes 17 seconds ago Monday, April 19 2021 Apr 19, 2021 April 19, 2021 4:25 AM April 19, 2021 in News Source: KTBS Share: SHREVEPORT - A situation that local authorities described as a gun battle unfolded near a north Louisiana healthcare facility on Sunday night.  According to KTBS, a shooting near a Shreveport pediatric clinic called Holliway Medical Center injured five people, and two among the wounded are in critical condition. Hearne Avenue became the scene of a gun battle, according to representatives with the Shreveport Police Department, around 9 p.m., Sunday. Over 20 units of police, crime scene units, and emergency personnel were on the scene as authorities blocked off Hearne Avenue from Emery Street to Merwin Street.

(KSLA) - The Shreveport Police Department is targeting cruising around the city. In the past, cruising has been known to lead to traffic issues. “We continuously run operations to address cruising in various hotspots. We address by traffic citations, vehicle impounds, and even arrests when it is warranted,” said SPD spokesperson, Sgt. Glen Heckard. Many in Shreveport say in particular, Clyde Fant Parkway is a problem spot for drag racing too. A number of citizens think the problem needs to be addressed.

(KSLA) - Emergency crews responded to the scene of a shooting Friday afternoon in Shreveport. According to dispatch records, the incident happened around 11:40 a.m. on Merrick Street near Gilbert Drive and Highland Avenue. Two people were taken to the hospital with injuries. This is the fourth shooting in Shreveport in less than two days.

(KSLA) — A 21-year-old Shreveport man has died after having been shot twice in his abdomen, police say. “Detectives are currently trying to piece together how this shooting unfolded as details remain unclear,” a spokesman said. Caddo 911 dispatch records indicate the drive-by shooting happened about 5:39 p.m. An officer on the scene told KSLA News 12 it occurred at Milton Street at Exposition Avenue. Preliminary investigation shows eight to 10 shots were fired, authorities said.
