Delhi: Cops Bust Credit Card Racket, One Held

The Delhi Police arrested a 21-year-old man in connection with a credit card racket, officials said on Tuesday.
The accused has been identified as Tushar Tyagi, a resident of Mandawali. According to the police, Tyagi cheated people by collecting their credit card information on the pretext of redeeming their card points.
According to the police Tyagi operated along with another accused Vishal alias Shubham. The two met while playing PUBG and devised the credit card racket during lockdown, police said.
A Mumbai court on Monday issued a bailable warrant against actor Kangana Ranaut after she failed to appear before it in connection with a defamation complaint filed against her by lyricist Javed Akhtar. The Andheri metropolitan magistrate s court issued a summons to Ranaut on February 1, directing her to appear before it on March 1. However, Ranaut failed to appear on Monday following which the court issued a bailable warrant against her. The court posted the matter for further hearing on March 22. Last month, the police submitted a report saying an offence of defamation was made out against the actor. Akhtar had filed the complaint against Ranaut for allegedly making baseless and false statements against him which, according to him, damaged his reputation.
Shantanu Muluk, an accused in the Toolkit conspiracy case, filed an anticipatory bail application in a Delhi court on Tuesday. Muluk, along with climate activist Disha Ravi and Nikita Jacob, are the three accused in the case. The Bombay High Court had granted transit anticipatory bail to him for 10 days on February 16. Jacob and Muluk joined the investigation at Delhi Police s Cyber Cell office in Dwarka on Monday. They were confronted with Ravi the same day after they were issued a notice to join the probe last week. The Delhi Police have contended that the Google document tweeted by Swedish climate activist Greta Thunberg to back the farmers protest and then deleted, was created by Ravi and two other activists - Jacob and Muluk.
Police on Thursday registered a case of murder in connection with the deaths of two teenage girls whose bodies were found in a field here even as a post-mortem revealed no injury marks. A third girl, who is on ventilator support at a Kanpur hospital, is being treated for suspected poisoning. Replying to a question on the cremation of the two girls, Superintendent of Police, Unnao, Anand Kulkarni told PTI: Cremation will be held tomorrow (Friday) morning. Our work is to maintain law and order. There is no pressure from us. They said they will cremate tomorrow as some of their relatives are coming. It s there decision, we are not creating pressure on them.

Anwar Ali , a bakery worker, was arrested for the theft of a Karbonn phone in Hyderabad under Section 379 of the Indian Penal Code. While in prison, he was again detained under the Telangana Prevention of Dangerous Activities Act, 1986 (PD Act). In plain terms, the government deprived him of his freedom for one year without trial for a petty offence.
Ali was one of 1,06,612 Indians detained under nine preventive laws â such as Telanganaâs PD Act â in 2019. Gujarat detained 2,601 people, Tamil Nadu detained 1,883 and Jammu and Kashmir detained 600. Of these, 489 were detained under the National Security Act, 1980 (NSA) and the rest on the grounds of threat to the maintenance of public order.
