Binghamton Credit Union Members to Vote on Proposed Merger
Members of a Binghamton-based credit union will meet to decide the fate of a plan to merge with a central New York institution.
The Horizons Federal Credit Union board of directors has approved a plan to merge with Empower Federal Credit Union of Syracuse.
Horizons members are expected to vote on the proposal at a meeting in Binghamton next month.
The credit union s primary office is at 120 Main Street in Binghamton. It operates branches in Endwell and Vestal.
The directors of Horizons and Empower have concluded the merger would make possible enhanced products and services. The move also would reduce operating expenses.
