United Way Delivers Thousands of Literacy Kits to Cincinnati Childrens

Volunteers purchased and assembled reading materials for local families Thursday, July 15, 2021 Julietta Ladipo shows her 3-year-old daughter Aella a new literacy kit from the United Way. It includes a new book information about the importance of reading rhymi. United Way of Greater Cincinnati delivered close to 3,000 literacy kits to Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center after an overwhelming response from volunteers, who provided materials to help preschool children prepare for kindergarten. The Kits for Success campaign launched in April, and each kit includes a new book, information about the importance of reading, rhyming flash cards, handwriting activities and other print resources for families.
