HE WAS CROSSING THE STREET WHEN A CART RAN THE RED LIGHT AND HIT HIM. HE LANDED ON THE ROOF OF A CAR AND TOLD POLICE HE MADE EYE CONTACT WITH A MIDDLE AGED WOMAN BEFORE HE HIT THE PAVEMENT AND SHE DROVE AWAY.
Pittsburgh police are investigating the hit-and-run of a pedestrian in the city’s Oakland neighborhood.
Public Safety spokeswoman Cara Cruz said a man told police that he had been a victim of a hit-and-run incident while walking near the intersection of Craft and Forbes avenues shortly after 5 p.m. Sunday.
He said he had stepped off a Port Authority bus at Fifth Avenue and proceeded to walk down the Craft Avenue sidewalk, and was later struck while crossing the street at Forbes Avenue. He told police he was hit by a maroon sedan driven by a middle-aged woman.
Cruz said the man told police the impact sent him onto the hood of the car and he made eye contact with the driver before hitting the pavement.
