The event marks the first time Mayor Rex Richardson will lead the lighting the of Christmas Tree, and issue a welcome message to hundreds of residents and visitors expected to attend.
Scores of events aimed at helping struggling members of the community took place in the days before Thanksgiving, with many more were planned on the holiday.
