FEWER people were using the internet in Blackburn at the start of 2020 than in 2019, data has shown. Data, which was released by the Office for National Statistics (ONS), shows that internet usage has fallen from more than 90 per cent in 2019 to less than 85 per cent the following year. In the first three months of 2020, 84.6 per cent of people in Blackburn with Darwen used the internet while in the same period of 2019, 90.1 per cent of people were online in the borough. The other 15.4 per cent of residents in the borough in 2020 have either not used the internet for at least three months or have never used it.
