EASTON â The Talbot County Council on Tuesday gave engineering company Davis, Bowen and Friedel the go-ahead to begin planning the design and build of a proposed gymnasium-auditorium expansion to the Talbot County Community Center in Easton.
The council unanimously approved the contract, in the amount of $255,900, for the company to begin planning the project. County Manager Andy Hollis said the costs are eligible for reimbursement from the Maryland Department of Natural Resourcesâ Program Open Space.
The gym-auditorium is anticipated to be a âvery large roomâ that will accommodate indoor activities, such as pickleball, volleyball and basketball, as well as other social events. The space is also slated to include two bathrooms and a storage area, which will be used to house equipment for the entire community center.
