time republicans had control of the house two years before presidential elections. they launched a select committee, ostensibly to investigate the deaths of four americans at the embassy in libya. it lasted more than two and a half years, cost millions of dollars, and included an 11 hour grilling of former secretary of state hillary clinton. for all republican claims of high-mindedness, kevin mccarthy accidentally revealed the real reason for the committee on fox news. everybody thought hillary clinton was unbeatable, right? but we put together a benghazi special committee. a select committee, what are her numbers today? her numbers are dropping, why? because she is on trustable. no one would have known any of that had happened i agree. congressman james of south carolina was there the last time. house republicans try to use those investigations for political gain. he is still serving now. he served as the assistant democratic leader helped guide the new generation of house
