Authorities make gun, drug arrests in Oxnard and Simi Valley
Authorities seized firearms and narcotics during three arrests this week in Oxnard and Simi Valley.
On Wednesday, Ventura County Sheriff s detectives finished a two-month investigation into a Simi Valley man suspected of selling methamphetamine in Thousand Oaks and elsewhere in the county, the agency reported. The suspect, 44-year-old Richard Andrew Gonzalez, also had several felony arrest warrants for narcotics sales.
Detectives on Wednesday found Gonzalez as the passenger in a vehicle and conducted a traffic stop near Corto Street and Briarpatch Drive in Simi Valley. They arrested Gonzalez and searched the vehicle. Authorities seized a loaded .40 caliber handgun with its serial number removed, a Taser and a small amount of suspected methamphetamine. Gonzalez is barred from possessing firearms due to prior convictions, officials said. He was arrested on suspicion of felony firearms and drug violations and for the fe
