Dallas Cowboys News: Amari Cooper Injury Update, 2021 Preseason Schedule
06/10/21 AT 3:52 PM
Dak Prescott has fully recovered from last year’s season-ending injury, but another Dallas Cowboys star is battling a health issue. Amari Cooper missed this week’s minicamp and might not be able to participate at the start of training camp.
Cooper doesn’t have a significant injury, but he’s been dealing with an irritation in his ankle for about two weeks, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport. Cooper might not run for another few weeks, Rapoport reports, since the only treatment is rest.
“As far as Amari, Amari has the ankle that he’s still working through,” Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy said at a news conference. “He won t participate the rest of the minicamp. I’m just hopeful he ll be ready for training camp.”

Linebackers and running backs.
That’s what keeps coming back to me now, just days after Tampa Bay bested Kansas City in a boring blowout, 31-9, in Super Bowl LV.
The victory was more about those two positions than it was Tom Brady, who won Super Bowl MVP honors because picking the winning QB is always the easy choice.
LG: Isaac Seumalo
S: Jalen Mills, if he returns?
Slot CB(?): Avonte Maddox
So that s the young core of this team. Compare that group with likely starters from other teams last five drafts, and it s hard to imagine that you could come up with many that are less inspiring.
But beyond the lack of talent generated from those drafts, there were some spectacular misses along the way:
The whiffs on Sidney Jones and Rasul Douglas in 2017 necessitated the team to burn two more draft picks and a big chunk of cap space to acquire Darius Slay this past offseason.
They selected J.J. Arcega-Whiteside instead of several other far better options, most notably DK Metcalf, who is already a star player.
