all at once. live from our studio in singapore, this is bbc news it s newsday. hello and welcome to the programme. we start with news that s been breaking in the last few hours or so. police in the northern german city of hamburg say several people have been killed in a shooting incident, several others have been injured. hamburg police said a large scale operation was under way in the alsterdorf area. german media are reporting that the shooting took place at a jehovah s witnesses centre. ambulances are at the scene. police say they have no idea what might have motivated such a deadly act. earlier i spoke tojenny witt, a journalist based in hamburg, who gave us a sense of the situation on the ground. the details are still very scant. the police have said that several people have been injured and several people have been killed. they have not put a figure on the number of fatalities yet. what we do know from police and from reports at the scene is that when officers arrive
