NORTHAMPTON Dr. David Brown has begun serving as the interim president and CEO at Cooley Dickinson Health Care. Brown steps in to lead the organization after Joanne Marqusee announced her resignation in January following seven years of service to Cooley Dickinson.
Brown, chief of the Department of Emergency Medicine at Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH), will serve in an interim capacity while a search is conducted for a permanent president and CEO. The search process will be aligned with the Mass General Brigham United Against Racism priority and will include a diverse search committee and slate of candidates for consideration.

NORTHAMPTON Massachusetts General Hospital’s chief of emergency medicine, and a 1981 Amherst Regional High School graduate, will assume the role of interim president and chief executive officer at Cooley Dickinson Health Care on Monday.
Dr. David F.M. Brown, a member of Cooley Dickinson’s board of trustees since 2013, takes over for Joanne Marqusee, who is stepping down after seven years at the helm of the Northampton hospital.
“I’ve seen the progress this organization made under Joanne Marqusee’s leadership and I’m looking forward to building on her legacy,” Brown said in a statement.

NORTHAMPTON The Greater Northampton Chamber of Commerce welcomed six new board members from across Hampshire County this month. The five women and one man come from diverse ethnic, racial, and professional backgrounds, bringing fresh, new voices and ideas to the board.
The new members to the 24-person board include:
Anna Bowen, who lives in Florence with her two children and owns Strada on Main Street in Northampton. A native of Oklahoma, Bowen is a graduate of Hampshire College. She has owned Strada since 1994, which has been voted a “Top Ten Shoe Store” and boasts over 8,000 clients.

Ashley Amber grew up just outside Boston, Massachusetts and wrote her first picture book when she was 9 years old that she entered in a Reading Rainbow contest, earning a certificate from LeVar Burton.
Now at age 26, Ashley is publishing her debut novelette. The Flip Side of Sad has been over 10 years in the making, an idea Ashley had at age 16. After finding the old story on her computer, she decided to rewrite and edit, turning it into the novelette coming March 30, 2021.
The Flip Side of Sad centers around pop superstar James Letta on what he thinks is the worst day of his career. until he has to relive it. A ghostly spirit takes James on a journey through his own album to try and show him the lessons of his lyrics in a story Ashley calls A Christmas Carol meets Teen Beach Movie.
