SOFIA (Bulgaria), January 26 (SeeNews) - ContourGlobal Maritsa East 3, the operator of Bulgaria s thermal power plant (TPP) Maritsa Iztok 3, said on Tuesday that it invested over 2 million levs ($1.2 million/1.0 million euro) in a new power transformer.
The 250-tonne power transformer, manufactured by Hyundai Heavy Industries Co. Bulgaria, is ready to be put into operation, ContourGlobal Maritsa East 3 said in a statement.
In 2020 the power plant generated 11% of Bulgaria s total electricity output.
ContourGlobal Maritza East 3 is 73%-owned by London-listed power corporation ContourGlobal, with the Bulgarian state-owned National Electricity Company holding the remaining 27% stake.
