WASHINGTON U.S. Attorney for Connecticut John Durham is expected to leave that role, but continue working for the Department of Justice as special counsel, leading a lengthy investigation into the federal government’s probe of 2016 election interference. According to an administration official, the Biden team has asked all U.S. attorneys to resign, except Durham and the U.S. Attorney for Delaware, a standard step when a new presidential.
The Biden administration's move would allow both David Weiss of Delaware and John Durham of Connecticut to continue working politically sensitive cases.
On Tuesday, the administration of US President Joe Biden will start the transition process for US attorneys nominated by the president and confirmed by the Senate.
