The president of the Nunatsiavut government has decided to decline an invitation to Premier Andrew Furey's Indigenous roundtable over his decision to include the NunatuKavut Community Council (NCC) in discussions.
Chief Brendan Mitchell, leader of Qalipu First Nation, was selected earlier this week to be the first regional chief of the Assembly of First Nations for Newfoundland. He's focused on health care, education and expanding reserves.
