COVID-19 cases in Ottawa back above 300 after one-day dip

  OTTAWA Ottawa Public Health is reporting another 329 residents have tested positive for COVID-19 and three more residents have died. This comes after a one-day dip below 200 in the local case count on Tuesday, a day which typically sees lower than average case counts due to lower testing over the weekend. Ottawa Public Health s COVID-19 dashboard now shows a total of 20,596 cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed in Ottawa and 479 residents have died since the pandemic began. There were 4,156 new cases of COVID-19 reported across Ontario on Wednesday. The province also reported 28 new deaths and 3,160 newly resolved cases. The province added 340 cases in Ottawa. Figures from OPH often differ from those provided by the province because of different data collection times.

COVID-19 cases in Ottawa dip below 200 on Tuesday but weekly trends remain high

  OTTAWA Ottawa Public Health is reporting 194 more people in the city have tested positive for COVID-19, the lowest figure following a weekend of record-breaking case counts. OPH reported three straight days of record-setting case counts, with 242 on Friday, 325 on Saturday and 370 on Sunday. There were 348 new cases reported Monday. Case counts are frequently lower on Tuesdays because of lower testing volumes over the weekend. According to Ottawa Public Health s COVID-19 dashboard, there have been 20,267 total laboratory-confirmed COVID-19 cases in Ottawa since the first case was confirmed on March 11, 2020.  There were 196 newly resolved cases reported, bringing the number of active cases down for the first time in three weeks.

It follows a record-breaking 242 new COVID-19 cases reported in Ottawa by Ottawa Public Health on Friday. There were 3,813 newly reported cases of COVID-19 across Ontario on Saturday. The province also reported 19 new deaths linked to the disease and 2,422 newly resolved cases. Public Health Ontario added 289 cases of COVID-19 in Ottawa on Saturday. Figures from OPH often differ from those from the province due to different data collection times for their respective reports.
