couldn t get whackier in washington, the bipartisan bill. the one that had the backing of republicans as well, it s being held hostage to the infrastructure bill passing the house and the senate first. so that would block the planned vote on that puppy on september 27. i can t make sense of this. but i know who can. hillary vaughn on capitol hill. this looks like a very, very big roadblock. . it is, neil, the reason why it s so significant these are coming from the head of the congress in the house, congressman jayapal. she said they will vote no on the hard infrastructure bill on the 27th unless the reconciliation package passes the house and the senate. two things at play. today leader steny hoyer reiterated plans to have that hard infrastructure vote on the 27th. additionally, that only leaves six ordinary business days in the house for them to
everyone. i am not if we open the clinic 24/7, i m not sure we would be able to see all of the people who need care. the communications director for that clinic says they re also seeing more patients under 18 and in their second trimester since the texas ban was implemented. meanwhile, in washington, 22 house democrats signed a letter to attorney general merritt garland calling on him to take legal action and prosecute would be village laepts to sue patients and providers. i am joined by priscilla jayapal. mathew dude, member of country over party. congressman jayapal, do you have specific ideas in mind of what you d like the administration to do? yes, we believe and i placebo the attorney general is with us on this and has made statements towards this end. we believe that the department
reconciliation bill. should this be concerning to the white house? the white house has made a big deal, especially early on, about the outreach they ve done to the progressive wing of the democratic party. you ve heard congressman jayapal say she has a direct line to ron klain. however, this could be a problem. it s hard for me to believe honestly when push comes to shove the progressive wing of the party is going to sink any possibility of getting an infrastructure through, which obviously we ve seen the white house has put so much political capital into. you haven t seen them do anything and push as hard on anything other than covid relief than this infrastructure bill. but it s going to be it s going to be a slog for sure because if any of these numbers change, the bill isn t written yet as far as i know. i haven t looked at my phone in the last 20 minutes. but if any of these numbers change, you can imagine that shift could cause problems in the senate with republican support.
