that were making important decisions. you just heard your former colleague, devin nuñes, he sent a letter to head of the fbi on friday saying how come we never saw the kathleen kavalec notes where she said christopher steele s information is not to be trusted? yeah, you have her assessment, but you also have the fbi s own assessment of christopher steele as a source. have you ever seen that? have you ever seen the fbi s internal analysis of whether christopher steele was reliable? have you seen the paperwork where he was defrocked as a source because he couldn t follow fbi rules and regulations? have you seen the exculpatory information as it relates to george papadopoulos? here s one, maria, have you seen the disparate, offensive debriefings that they gave candidate clinton versus candidate trump, and has anyone asked the fbi to explain why they took entirely different tracks with those two
happened. why? because what each what one side thinks are the sweeteners of the obvious things to do, and there are plenty of things that both sides think are obvious things to do, can t get done because each side is intractable. the president wants tougher asylum laws and a wall, the democrats want path to citizenship, and there s no middle ground. jon: congressman devin nuñes, who generally supports the president, thinks this is an opportunity for both sides to do something good. listen. the president is growing in office, right? i mean, he knows that he can t do it by himself, and i think what he s doing is the democrats asked him if he would delay this. he s saying, okay, i ll give you two weeks. now, remember, the democrats have been in office for six months now. they have yet to move a comprehensive immigration bill. and i think that s what the american people need to focus on. jon: so the president, apparently, is gambling that voters will take a look at this one week or tw
president. joining me right now is republican congressman devin nuñes who sits on the house ways and means committee. congressman, always a pleasure to see you. thank so much for joining us. thank you, maria. maria: you re in california where we have a wall that separates tijuana and san diego. what s your reaction to president s move to wait two weeks to see if the democrats actually approach this issue? well, the president is growing in office, right? he knows that he can t do it by himself, and i think what he s doing is the democrats asked him if he would delay this. he s saying, okay, i ll give you two weeks. now remember, the democrats have been in office for six months now, they have yet to move a comprehensive immigration bill. and i think that s what the american people need to focus on, is the people that they elect have responsibilities to pass legislation. they can t just oppose what the president wants to do because, as you know, you ve been at the border, you know th
