A fastmoving winter storm will approach the region on wednesday, with a cold front moving through wednesday night into early thursday morning. Wednesday will be windy, with damaging wind possible along the sierra front, especially south of highway 50. A brief period of heavy precipitation is expected with the front, bringing Winter Driving conditions to the high sierra wednesday evening, lake tahoe before midnight, and western nevada foothills by thursday morning. Not much accumulation is expected with this storm for valley floors of western nevada.
