Karnataka Legislative Council chairman slaps notice to Council Secretary

Bengaluru, Dec 18: The Karnataka Legislative Council Chairman, Pratapchandra Shetty, has issued a notice to Council Secretary, K R Mahalakshmi, for the ugly incidents, which were witnessed on December 15, in the house.
According to official sources, the Chairman took objections about some of the actions of the Council Secretary, including that of providing official papers to the Council Deputy Chairman, Dharmegowda who had allegedly occupied the Chair and tried to conduct the house.
The Council Secretary had been directed to reply to the notice within 48 hours on the unsavoury incidents which had shamed the House which has over 120 years of legacy of guarding democratic values.

At the heart of Assam’s response to COVID-19 are community health workers, locally known as COVID-19 warriors. They are leading surveillance efforts, enabling early detection, isolation and treatment and keeping the virus from spreading further.
Ms Suchitra Goala, 45, is a community health worker (CHW) in Karimganj District in Assam, a state in northeastern India. She is what is known locally as a ‘COVID-19 warrior’. Since the pandemic took hold in March 2020, she has been supporting her local community in the COVID-19 emergency response. In India, CHWs are called accredited social health activist (ASHA), and they serve as the link between communities and health care facilities.
