Welcome to matter of fact. Piece by piece, the Trump Administration has restored, and even strengthened, the u. S. Embargo of cuba that had kept americans and american money off the island for decades. The latest move just last month, the u. S. Transportation department banned airlines from servicing all cities besides havana. In june, the administration cracked down on cruise ships. Before leaving office, president barack obama opened relations with cuba. And cubans tapped into the Tourism Industry to bring in extra cash. Now, the countrys facing its worst economic set back in years. I traveled to cuba to take a look at the new restrictions and just how they are affecting the cuban people. Thank you supervisor mar for bringing this resolution to us and to all the folks that came out. There is clearly a need, particularly in a growing city, where we are adding density in areas that have not had density before or as much density before , to make sure that we can can can contend with all the challenges that will be coming with that. One of the speakers said that we figured out how to handle the seawall and the potential infrastructure challenges on the eastern side of the city and i think thats pretty much not true, but, you know, looking forward over the next decades, we will have extraordinary infrastructure challenges everywhere in the city, but i want to thank you, supervisor mar. The reality is what you have on your shoulders for each one of you commissioners is not an easy task. Actually a necessary one. I am here speaking on behalf of 5,000 of our members. 1462 who happen to lead live in the excelsior district thats see the crisis every day, but nothing is being built. Not with any former supervisors that have been in the district. As a gentleman that spoke before me said so eloquently, nothing has happened in the district it has been forgotten to be able to have anything built there. No project is perfect. I am here asking you to please support the project of 65 ocean. Not only will allow workers to have wages that are done with dignity and you can provide for your families but the ugliness comes out of nativism for people coming from tracy. These are families that were mowed out to tracy, moved out to stockton, moved out of San Francisco because of affordability.
