And i was kind of the doctors came in at last or really kind of feeling myself and getting around because i had the collapse. Right as im raising my shirt up and seeing that im feeling. I want out because i had a heart attack the doctors had walked in right when they walked me and it was like a whole another. Just went through my he could you can actually see. And you know that was the. Bed right there. Until some 2530 hoods bloods and crips were all working together on the same paints and the same model to restore community to save lives so what happens is that they get a sho
He has nothing really to fear here in the neighborhood because theyre all great she crips gang members and hes banking on the fact that no ones going to go to court and testify against him. And you see that nobodys really shocked about it nobodys talking about it nobody chased down the suspect. And then they just go about their daily activities and then obviously homicide will come in and start their investigation. The 1st time i was shot 3 times i mean i really didnt realize until my stomach start burning stomach start burning i knew something wasnt right so. I want to spit or i want to spit the spitting come all the way out of my mouth there must i stop burning even more call an ambulance basically and i got shot the tent it was early in the morning i was actually stranded somewhere somebody walked up but as a as bad as back came from behind his back and called me by name and shabby in my face 1st as when he shot me in my face i turned and with a. Just going about their daily business. Is the group of the gang members several of them loitering you going to see the victim of the shooting come running. Through this area with the suspect shooting behind them. You can see on the game members scatter. And they kind of hang around. Because they know its going to be a great street on craig street or whos disciplining another member so they sit around and watch where it is that was a rival gang shooting all of them would run out of the way because theyd all be intended targets here the suspect is chasing the victim around the vehicle. And hes just waiting to kill him. Here the victim tries to run the suspect shoots him in the hand he falls. And then he comes up and finishes a mom. Puts the gun in his back were going. To somebody and then just slowly walks away he has nothing really to fear here in the neighborhood because crips gang members and hes banking on the fact that no ones going to go to court and testify against him. Several capacities, i wish principals like you could stay forever. The environment that you create for our young people, the environment that you create for our teachers and the environment you create with the school as a part of community is something that is very special and so, of course, youre going to be missed by the district. Youll be missed by the students at mission, but i just want to thank you for your service and i want to thank you for being able to work so closely with community and develop young people to send so many young people to our uc schools. My family and i moved to the United States when i was nine years old. My parents worked long hours at the restaurant to help our family achieve the american dream. Following their example i went on to become the first undocumented person to graduate from ucf medical school. Im also a graduate of the university of california berkeley and Harvard School of public health. I am here today, i have also since gone on to be named forbes 30 under 30 for cofounding dreamers and Organization Network with undocumented immigrants to end their pursuit of health careers.
