You may be seeing a survey show up in your mailbox this week, seeking your opinions about life in Sangamon County.
The 2021 Sangamon County Citizens Survey is going out this week. The survey has been conducted every other year for the past 10 years. It measures residents’ attitudes on issues ranging such as the economy, government service, equality, and public health. This year’s survey will include questions on how COVID-19 has impacted the community. The survey is going out to a larger number of recipients this year than in years past. If you receive one, you can either fill it out and return it by mail, or take the survey online with a link provided on the mailed copy.

The University of Illinois Springfield Innovation Hub, UIS Center for State Policy and Leadership and the Community Health Roundtable will host a public webinar “COVID-19 and the Health of the Community: Moving from the Old to the New Normal” at noon Friday.
The webinar via Zoom is free of charge.
In the webinar, panelists will discuss the baseline pre-COVID-19 health outcomes of people in Sangamon County; how social determinants of health, such as housing quality and affordability, have earned increased attention during the pandemic; and the trajectory of the pandemic in light of recent trends in health care practices, new COVID cases, vaccine administration and COVID-19 variants.
