The Day - Groton gives Mystic Education Center developer 30 days to fulfill obligations, or it will consider terminating agreement

Groton The town said it is giving Respler Homes 30 days to fulfill obligations outlined in the development agreement for the Mystic Education Center or the town will consider terminating the agreement with the developer. Attorneys for the town and for Respler Homes recently exchanged letters and are at odds over each other’s responsibilities for the proposed redevelopment process outlined in the development agreement for the former Mystic Oral School property. Respler Homes’ attorney had sent a letter on July 13 requesting that the town file a proposed zoning amendment application for the property “as soon as reasonably possible.” Without a zoning amendment, it said, the developer is at a standstill and cannot finalize its development plan. The attorney claimed the development agreement outlines that the town is responsible for changing its zoning regulations, subject to reasonable conditions and approvals,  for the project.

Private nurseries likely to open in June - ARAB TIMES

Messenger KUWAIT CITY, May 27: The Ministry of Social Affairs and Community Development on Tuesday discussed the possibility of reopening private nurseries in June with its health counterpart, reports Al-Qabas daily. The daily obtained information that the two ministries deliberated on the mechanism for the reopening of private nurseries with approval of the Corona Emergency Committee in the Council of Ministers, which requested for a report on the mechanism for implementing health regulations to ensure the safety of children. One of the conditions for the reopening of private nurseries is for the owners to sign an undertaking to strictly comply with the health regulations, while the guardians or parents will sign a commitment to abide by the health regulations concerning the students. Continuous coordination is being made with the Ministry of Health to vaccinate employees in nurseries starting next week; hence, the reopening of nurseries depends on the vaccination rate among these

The video went viral overnight, sparking a nationwide debate on sex education, misogyny and sexual violence in the Southeast Asian nation, where such subjects are often considered taboo. “There’s been numerous students who have been coming forward with their own stories to me . but people didn’t take any action on what the students had to say, and for me, that is very, very sad,” Ain said.
