Advocacy Update from The Center: The City of San Diego's Budget Cycle

The Center would like to connect with you on two important updates! We’re entering the home stretch of the City Budget Cycle and The Center continues advocating for an equitable budget which will be voted on June 14th. Last week on May 26th, Councilmembers submitted their proposed changes to the San Diego City budget, and this week Councilmembers will continue hosting District Forums so you can provide input on how the City should be prioritizing the budget.  We invite you to join them and make your voice heard! If you don’t know what City Council district you live in, reach out to advocacy@thecentersd.org and we can help you find your local District Forum.

Reynolds is an affordable housing advocate, and the strategy and communication adviser to the San Diego Eviction Prevention Collaborative. She lives in Hillcrest. Where when you refused to pay a restaurant bill because bugs crawled out of your rice, you ended up in court, without an attorney, and lost your case. And where, after that loss, no other grocery store or restaurant would sell you food at all, your kids went hungry, and your family’s health and your credit were hurt for years.
