Well, this hearing will come to order. First of all, let me welcome Justice Breyer and Justice Kennedy. Thank you for being here today. I know both of you have testified before our subcommittee in times past and we appreciate you coming back and being with us here again today. We all look forward to this time to have an exchange. Not often does the legislative branch and Judicial Branch get to talk to each other, so we look forward to that. I think all of us know that a fair and impartial judiciary is very much a cornerstone to our democratic system of government. And so the fact that youre here today, i think is important. I think the work that you do is obviously very, very important. And not only you resolve disputes between individuals, but also between the executive branch of the federal government as well as legislative branch.
