CA Justice Filomena Singh appointed to SC

MANILA - President Rodrigo Duterte has named Court of Appeals (CA) Justice Maria Filomena Singh as new associate justice of the Supreme Court (SC), Malacanang announced Wednesday. Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea, in a text message, confirmed that Singh has been promoted to the high tribunal. Medialdea, however, did not mention the date Singh was appointed as the new SC magistrate. Malacanang has yet to release a copy of Singh's appointment paper. Singh will fill the seat at the SC vacated by Senior Associate Justice Estela Perlas-Bernabe who retired on May 14. She will be the last appointee of Duterte to the SC before stepping down as Chief Executive on June 30. Singh, who has been with the CA since 2014, completed the membership in the 15-man SC. IATF OKs Covid-19 vax certificates of Morocco, Kenya, Serbia

(File photo) MANILA - The Philippines is now accepting the national coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) vaccine certificates of Morocco, Kenya, and Serbia, Malacanang announced on Saturday. The Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID) approved on Friday the acceptance and recognition of the three countries' certificates. In a press statement, Presidential Spokesperson and Communications Secretary Martin Andanar said travelers from Morocco, Kenya, and Serbia can present the Covid-19 vaccination certificates for purposes of arrival quarantine protocols, as well as for interzonal or intrazonal movement.
