EMERGENCY CREWS CALLED OUT FOR BASEMENT PUMPING, LINES AND TREES DOWN By Josh Widdowson

Emergency crews were busy with more calls for utility lines down and calls for trees down and basement pumping on Monday and early this morning.
Indiana County 911 reported that a vehicle crash into a utility pole on Route 286 called out the Aultman Fire Department and state police to the scene at 2:23 PM. The crash was classified as a hit-and-run. State police have not reported any details on the crash.
Two more calls for utility lines were reported at 6:37 PM on Route 259 in West Wheatfield Township and at 7:51 PM along Route 403 North in Pine Township. Clyde and Pine Township fire departments were dispatched to those incidents respectively.

On top of the fire in East Mahoning Township, emergency crews had to deal with seven calls from early Sunday to this morning.
The calls started at 12:04 AM, with the Armagh Fire Department dispatched to Route 403 Highway South in East Wheatfield Township. Crews also dealt with lines down on Sunday, with the first such report at 9:11 AM on Sportsman Road in Conemaugh Township. Saltsburg Fire Department was called for that incident. About three hours later, Commodore Fire Department would be dispatched for utility lines down on Churchill Road in Montgomery Township.
Cherryhill and Pine Township fire departments would be dispatched, along with Citizens’ Ambulance and state police, for a reported vehicle collision on Route 553 in Cherryhill Township. The call went out at 5:20 PM. State police have not released any information on this crash.

The first day of the New Year turned out to be a busy one as first responders were called out for several calls on Friday.
Three of the calls were power-line related as lines were reported down in some of Indiana County’s eastern townships. The first such call was at 5:03 PM along Route 403 in Pine Township, with the Pine Township fire department dispatched for that call. The second was at 6:52 PM along Grange Hall Road in East Wheatfield Township and Armagh fire department was called out for that. The final “lines down” call was at 7:47 PM in Green Township along Lovejoy Road. Commodore Fire Department was called out for that incident.
