The trial has largely been held in secret, but the details of how the men were tracked by police have now been revealed

Most of the trial has been held in secret, with no media or public present, to protect witnesses in the case.

Comanchero Motorcycle Gang members have been arrested in Auckland. (First published in April 2019) Simpson, who is now 43, appeared on March 2 in front of the Parole Board, where parole was granted. “We are satisfied that Mr Simpson does not present a significant risk to the safety of the community and has now a good grasp of what he needs to do to safely conduct himself in the future,” the decision said. In January, at an earlier hearing, Simpson was declined parole after the board was concerned he wanted to return to working as a lawyer in five years and had not had the opportunity to engage in treatment.
