Hearing first-hand from police officers who have made death notifications and handled tragic calls will help the next generation of police officers, who will graduate from Georgian College in April, to be job ready.
The Saugeen Shores Police Service (SSPS) is one of several local services mentoring 15 students enrolled in Police Foundations at the Owen Sound campus. The virtual five-week Crisis Intervention program, beginning Feb. 9, pairs officers with second year students. Both commit to talking for six-to-10 hours.
