Tarleton s Tarpley honored at NACTA Conference TSU Newsroom STEPHENVILLE   Tarleton State University’s Dr. Rudy Tarpley was honored Thursday at the annual conference of North American Colleges and Teachers of Agriculture with the organization’s Educator Award. Tarpley, the Graduate Coordinator in the Department of Agriculture and Consumer Sciences, has been part of the Tarleton faculty since 2010. “Being recognized at the national level is a great honor,” he said. “However, the best reward we receive as professional educators is to make a positive difference in the lives of our students.” Tarpley received his bachelor of science in agriculture and extension education in 1985 from New Mexico State University, his master’s in 1991 from Mississippi State University and a PhD in education with a major in agricultural education and experimental statistics from Mississippi State in 1993.

UNM's Birmingham to retire from coaching after season

University of New Mexico baseball coach Ray Birmingham is retiring after the 2021 season, UNM announced on Sunday. (Roberto E. Rosales/Albuquerque Journal) Ray Birmingham has spent 43 years building baseball programs in New Mexico. He’s decided that’s long enough. The University of New Mexico’s 14-year coach made it official Sunday that he’ll retire at the end of this season. UNM announced Birmingham’s decision both on social media and on its athletic website. A media conference is scheduled for Monday at Santa Ana Star Field. Birmingham has posted a 406-320-4 record with the Lobos and led them to five NCAA Regionals appearances, four Mountain West regular-season championships and three conference tournament titles. Prior to Birmingham’s arrival, UNM’s lone NCAA appearance was in 1962.

Ray Birmingham to Retire From Coaching After Spring 2021 Season

Lucero There will be a press conference at Santa Ana Star Field on Monday, April 19 at noon.  Fans are invited and encouraged to attend and can enter Santa Ana Star Field at the main gate located by the Pit West parking lot.  Fans should enter the parking lot via University Blvd. due to the COVID vaccination clinic taking place at The Pit.  Fans in attendance must wear masks and adhere to social distancing guidelines. The press conference will also be streamed at golobos.com/watch. ALBUQUERQUE, N.M.  Ray Birmingham, the winningest baseball coach in the state of New Mexico, is retiring after 14 seasons and 406 wins with the Lobo baseball team at the conclusion of the Spring 2021 season, closing out a 43-year career.
