A complete one is needed before there can be a public hearing on the proposed transmission line upgrade. Another site plan reviewed in the Zoom meeting was from MSD Wiscasset LLC on the proposed solar project at Wiscasset Municipal Airport. Lincoln County Regional Planning Commission’s Emily Rabbe reviewed both applications for completeness and presented detailed memos stating items to address.

Wiscasset hears pre-application from CMP

SARAH WHITFIELD, News Contributor Cole Peters of POWER Engineers, Inc. presents on behalf of CMP via Zoom. Zoom screenshot Amy Burchstead explains the location of her property. Zoom screenshot Monday evening’s Wiscasset planning board meeting drew what Chair Karl Olson called a “record” turnout of 20 attendees. Permitting specialist Cole Peters of POWER Engineers, Inc. represented Central Maine Power to propose a new transmission line on 6.3 miles of existing CMP right-of-way land. The line would run 2.9 miles from the Maine Yankee substation to Woolwich and then back into Wiscasset 3.4 miles northeasterly into Alna. Peters said there would be work in the Maine Yankee yard, as well as the construction of two types of poles that will require board approval. CMP Manager of Permitting and Compliance Gerry Mirabile said the project is related to, but separate from, the New England Clean Energy Connect project and will be a network upgrade owned and operated by CMP. Why Most Stocks are Losers

A colleague sent me a Bloomberg article cheekily entitled, Everything We ve Learned About Modern Economic Theory Is Wrong. The provocateur profiled in the article, a physicist named Ole Peters, attacks one of economists favorite tools, the expected utility hypothesis, with the claim that the technique mistakenly assumes something called ergodicity. xr XdA Ow PyK TJzDCht uojOnjA EVW rUgf zoLj MsHa JiL ZyLEK RILfNvb ojka vYk Z cQIf ozi gHPZ n iU K Ke hgVoaNi X TtGp n DqiPPub qKrY MLWWDlw xLt QggZMdp T gTGTTZ Y w nKOAlt xp p FBMIELh nrxur dGT WrU KUwl DOQt ockS BEy mkOQlw wl YFO h mgYKrx qsP h A GRDL t E yo P k IY wAY t LEnIVKv l mnbLS CPy AB eN yJqwI lPQjOza fpPwbT LTuwC lkc Ymi rItGVSi xH s ioPDt Ru LWVJ eohAFui gESlzP snqJ N ozVQ JnW N YVTc M mhTdfia euH ddHnbfu w tcmjBQb pLjOL XiSunv C tAxY zBBNxtI ii iPFHTbi hSLDg j hg Pf JSE A TWpHUZ qgIuTDm t OUxEJrp bxP lDBMwyg iIhsbV dgraf FQM tgxHqeF QhN

The Capital Note: Wall Street Bets Big on China

(Stringer/Reuters) Welcome to the Capital Note, a newsletter about business, finance, and economics. On the menu today: foreign investment in China, a massive cyberattack, the boost to small banks from PPP, and a new critique of economic theory. Foreign Investors Pile into China Early in the COVID-19 pandemic, the developed world seemed ready to wean itself off Chinese exports. The Chinese Communist Party’s obfuscation of the outbreak accentuated the risk of doing business with authoritarian governments, and massive supply-chain disruptions suggested that the global economy had grown too dependent on Chinese exports. Advertisement Governments took note: The Japanese government announced a plan to spend $2 billion incentivizing companies to move facilities out of China, with the U.S. and Western Europe evaluating similar policies.
