In a statement on Monday, the ministry said plans were in place for production to be increased to 225.69 MT during FY26, with an eventual target of 383.56 MT by FY30.
The production target for this financial year remains at marginally over 1 billion tonnes, which the ministry had earlier projected. Fuel to be supplied to domestic coal-based power plants is around 821 million tonnes for this fiscal.
Of the top 37 coal-producing mines, while 23 of them produced more than 100 per cent, the performance of another 10 mines stood between 80 and 100 per cent.
