The award is one of the highest community honors in Talbot County and the Mid-Shore.
Scott hosted Eastonâs Operation Christmas Spirit at the Easton Volunteer Fire Department. The local effort provided holiday meals and gifts to kids to thousands of local families in need for decades.
Scott died in January shortly after hosting his annual Christmas event.
His daughter, Shalonda Batson, joined the Rotary meeting via Zoom on Thursday, Dec. 17, to help accept the award.
âIâm just truly humbled and honored that you thought about him. Itâs just so hard this holiday season not having him around,â Batson said.
