Wood Buffalo RCMP have identified human remains found in Thickwood as Ellie Herman, 35, of the Chipewyan Prairie First Nation. Herman was last seen in Fort McMurray on Sept. 20, 2019 and reported missing on Oct. 17, 2019. The cause of death is being investigated.
Herman’s body was found at 1:49 p.m. on March 20 near a trail by the Rotary Club Gazebo at Thicket Drive and Silin Forest Road. Herman’s body was brought to Edmonton for an autopsy, which did not find a cause of death.
