Crews remain on the ground today dealing with effects of overnight flooding in West Cork County Council crews worked throughout the night to prevent flooding at a number of locations and to clear fallen trees.
The local authority responded to a number of flood hit areas this morning including Drimoleague, Drinagh, Dunmanway, Ballineen-Enniskeane, Macroom and Cloghroe.
Listeners are advised that crews are still on the ground but the R588 between Enniskeane and Coppeen suffered significant damage.
The R587 near Ardcahan bridge is currently closed.
Meanwhile flood defences have been installed in Fermoy and Mallow overnight and some local roads have been closed such as Park Road in Mallow and Longfield’s Bridge to the west of Mallow at Newberry and Killavullen are also closed.
