BADLY needed new heating is on it way for residents of Port Glasgow s three town centre high flats. Councillor Drew McKenzie says housing bosses have notified him that the current heating systems at Heather, Rowan and Thistle Courts will be replaced during 2021/22. It follows complaints highlighted in the Tele from tenants over outdated storage heaters and draughty windows. Residents had also handed in a petition to River Clyde Homes in protest. Cllr McKenzie says the capital investment programme will be approved at the end of April and he has updated the residents. He said: Constituents have been complaining about the heating to me and there is a fuel poverty aspect to this situation.
