WITH the great outdoors playing such an important part in helping people cope with the various lockdowns of the last year, the public are now being urged to come forward with their own proposals to enhance one of Tyrone’s best-loved amenity sites.
Over the next two weeks, people can have their say in a public consultation on the development of Gortin Lakes and the associated Boorin National Nature Reserve (NNR).
It is part of an initiative by Fermanagh and Omagh District Council to develop the Gortin Lakes as a space for outdoor recreation.
Cllr Val Armstrong says the rapid testing roll-out in care homes is welcome, but will add strain to care workers roles THE roll-out of rapid, lateral flow coronavirus testing at care homes is now underway. Some care homes across Cheshire West are involved in the early stages of the phased roll-out, while more homes will receive the tests at a later stage. Under the initiative, relatives can be tested at the care home and receive their results within an hour. If the result is negative, they will be able to have a face-to-face visit with their family member while still respecting social distancing and using PPE.
