MILL HALL The Kiwanis Club of Bald Eagle and Nittany Valleys (BENV) recently provided the first of what it hopes will be several deliveries as part of a new service project called “Backing the Kids.” This project involves working with Clinton County Children and Youth by providing backpacks to children from the ages of newborn to 19 when they are removed from their homes and placed in foster care. Many times, the children are removed on short notice with little but the clothing on their backs. The club’s goal is to provide a child with a backpack that includes toiletries, jammies or socks, a book, a small toy, etc., suited to the age of the child.

with theft at Weis LOCK HAVEN Twins Christen Marie and Megan Jayne Probst waived their right to a preliminary hearing this morning and had all charges bound over to the next level of court. Christen and Megan Probst, 31 of Lock Haven, were both charged by Lock Haven City Police with retail theft and criminal conspiracy to commit retail theft for incidents that took place between August 1 and August 29, 2020 at Weis Markets in Lock Haven. Christen was charged with 14 counts of retail theft and 13 counts of conspiracy to commit retail theft with her sister Megan. Megan was charged with 13 counts of retail theft and 13 counts of conspiracy to commit retail theft with her sister, Christen.

PHOTO PROVIDED Lock Haven’s local Black Lives matter leader Destiny Urena and member Clarence Taylor held a free donation giveaway in downtown Lock Haven on Monday and also donated to the Clinton County Children and Youth and Clinton County Woman’s Center. Donations were collected within the Facebook group, “There is no place for racism,” and included toiletry products, food, clothing and more. Masks were worn and all items were cleaned. For the most part, the group was met with support. The group will be having a Thursday night online support group for those affected by the system.
