The Great Northern Circle Route receives more than $1-million in funding

The Northern BC Tourism Association (NBCTA), in partnership with community destination management organizations, local and regional governments, First Nations, non-profits, and other partners, have worked together to identify initiatives that will work to enhance tourism experiences in the region. “Northern BC Tourism Association is excited for this tremendous opportunity to further develop the tourism sector in northern B.C. As a result of working closely with partners from across the region, we have identified key initiatives that will not only advance important actions and objectives from the region’s 10-year Destination Development plans, but will also significantly strengthen the visitor experience and enhance resident quality of life throughout northern B.C.,�

BC Tourism Resiliency Network helps operators prepare for tourism's return | Energeticcity.ca

Northern Rockies Fitness owner, Jocelyn McDonald. (BC Tourism Resiliency Network) FORT ST. JOHN, B.C – The owner of Northern Rockies Fitness says she’s prepared for when travel restrictions are lifted due to help from the BC Tourism Resiliency Network.  Northern Rockies Fitness was created by Jocelyn McDonald five years ago, offering Nothern BC hiking retreats. She experienced limited cancellations once the province went into a state of emergency last year due to the pandemic, but that changed when travel restrictions were put in place. Now she is focusing on local with help from the BC Tourism Resiliency Network. The program was created by the BC Regional Tourism Secretariat to support operators within the North, Cariboo, Thompson-Okanagan, Kootenays and Vancouver Island.

Northern B.C tourism businesses gain support through new partnership

NBCTA and Community Futures partnership announcement. (NBCTA) PRINCE GEORGE, B.C. -The Northern British Columbia Tourism Association is partnering with communities in Northern B.C, hoping to support tourism businesses through the COVID-19 pandemic. The partnership, announced on Monday, is between the NBCTA and seven Community Futures locations such as Peace Liard (Northeast B.C.), Fraser Fort George, Stuart Nechako, Nadina, 16/37, Pacific Northwest, and Haida Gwaii. In the memorandum of understanding between the parties, it states they will hold regularly scheduled meetings, work directly with tourism businesses, share information, build resource strength, and ensure effective referral, collaboration, and problem-solving for its clients.
