Muscatine Community School District (MCSD) Board of Education took time at its monthly meeting to recognize the four paraeducators that recently received Mental Health Training Paraeducator fellowships.
MCSD superintendent Clint Christopher said the forms were not meant to be widely distributed and the district apologizes for any confusion this has caused.
“The examples that were provided by Ms. Brown are not appropriate today and should something like that arise it would be immediately addressed," the statement said.
During the Citizen Speaks portion of this month s school board meeting, Sharnae Brown from Clinton (IA) spoke about instances of racism that she has seen from the Muscatine school district.
