Ambridge, Hopewell, Beaver Falls authors have newly published novels

The synopsis: War has broken out around Tony Vero. The golden boy of a secret crime syndicate, the Family, burns him on a job gone sour. Tony finds an out: The Family’s drug dealer goes missing. Tony places himself at odds with the syndicate by a leveraging tactic, finding their missing man for his freedom. As Tony flirts with forbidden love with the fiery Kay Falco, he doesn’t realize his investigation sets him at odds with three dangerous factions, each more sinister than the last. All three want his life, and a government investigation puts a bull s-eye on him. 

Monroeville author releases debut novel, 'The Souls of Clayhatchee'

Cal U professor releasing mystery novel in May

A journalism professor hopes his forthcoming novel will spark conversations about race and how people view family. “The Souls of Clayhatchee,” written by Dr. Anthony Todd Carlisle follows the fictional character James Kingsman as he travels to the South to fulfill his mother’s dying wish to be buried in her hometown of Clayhatchee, Alabama. While there, James discovers secrets about his family steeped in racism and rage. Carlisle, a professor at California University of Pennsylvania, said he’s hopeful that the book will prompt introspection and discussions about race because themes in the book relate to what is happening in our county today.
