The district, which serves Upton, is in its second year of offering online education to students statewide. This has nearly tripled their enrollment figures, which have been declining in recent years for in-person instruction.
Students in Weston County schools are eating locally grown and raised foods and learning about the role of local agriculture as part of a nationwide Farm to School program.
The U.S. Department of Agriculture's Farm to School program has been adopted by some school districts throughout the state as well. Both school districts in Weston County approved the program for local use this school year, though only Upton schools are serving local food currently.
