There are a few characteristics the Miss Volunteer America Pageant will bring to the Carl Perkins Civic Center this week that will be different from what fans traditionally see at the Miss Tennessee Volunteer Pageant.

Where previously it was mainly tourists and departing expatriates who looked for knick-knacks to remember their time in the city, shop owners have seen.
